From CDT staff reportsJanuary 4, 2014

— State College’s Kyla Irwin scored at the buzzer on Friday night to help the Lady Little Lions into overtime, but Harrisburg won the extra frame 10-3 and the game, 59-52, to hand State College its second loss of the season.

Irwin scored a game-high 26 points, as State College (7-2) held a 23-20 lead at the break before falling behind 37-36 to the Cougars after three.

“We picked up some momentum heading into overtime, but like in the holiday tournament, we have to learn how to finish. I think that will be our focus in January,” State College coach Bethany Irwin said.

Bridget King added 12 points for State College.

Alexis Marshall and Tysha Brown scored 15 and 19 points, respectively, to lead the Cougars, as the duo connected on all six of Harrisburg’s 3-pointers.
