Milesburg man cited for animal cruelty for having dogs outside in cold temperatures

From CDT staff reportsJanuary 7, 2014

After several complaints were received, a Milesburg man was cited for cruelty to animals for leaving four dogs outside in Monday’s frigid temperatures, state police said.

State police at Rockview received tips that Travis J. Conaway, 115 Kelley Development Road, had four dogs outside in two dog houses.

Police arrived to find the dogs outside cooped up in two houses that were not big enough for them. In addition, the water bowls were frozen. Two of the canines were short-haired, according to police.

Conaway was told to bring the dogs indoors and received a citation for animal cruelty, according to a police report.
