A threat made to a flight that was landing Tuesday morning at the University Park Airport in Benner Township was found to be non-credible, a federal official said Wednesday.

The details of how the threat to the flight from Dulles International Airport in suburban Washington originated was not immediately known.

The flight was on CommutAir, a subsidiary of United Airlines, the official from the Transportation Security Administration said.

The official said the threat against the flight was not specific, and that additional security was provided to respond to the threat.

Penn State provided its K-9 unit, but Police Chief Tyrone Parham declined to discuss specifics.

Airport Executive Director Bryan Rodgers declined comment, as well.

A message left for the airline was not immediately returned.
