Boys basketball: Penns Valley cruises past St. Joseph’s

— The Penns Valley boys’ basketball team raced away from St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy early Friday night to coast to a 57-28 victory.

Ben Alexander’s 14 points and Logan Johnson’s 12 led the Rams (10-1, who took off to a 16-6 lead in the opening eight minutes and had the margin at 32-10 by halftime.

“We played solid defense which spurred on the offense,” Penns Valley coach Terry Glunt said. “”It was nice to see all 11 kids contribute and play team basketball.”

Kashim Buey and Michael Jabco each netted seven points for the Huskies (4-5).

The game kicks off a stretch of eight days of Centre County teams on the Rams schedule, witha showdown at Bald Eagle Area on Monday, followed by games against Philipsburg-Osceola and Bellefonte later next week.
