Sandwich proceeds to help benefit Thon
Anytime you buy a Kathleen Gormley sandwich at The Fraser Street Deli, $1 will be donated to Thon.
Madeline Pryor, a 2013 graduate of Penn State, is part of a group of alumni who teamed up with The Fraser Street Deli in hopes of raising at least $2,600.
Throughout the holidays and into the New Year, people were asked to make a $5 donation and then create a sandwich to be in the running to be named the fundraising sandwich.
Last week, a panel of judges at The Fraser Street Deli voted for one winner among the six finalists. Seventeen sandwich ideas were submitted in total, Pryor said.
The sandwich is panini-style with chicken, macaroni-and-cheese, buffalo sauce and bacon bits, and is named for Gormley — a 2013 Penn State graduate who was a member of the club swim team, Relay for Life and Thon participant.
