Penn State track & field: Nittany Lions shine in meet

— Evonne Britton won the 60-meter hurdles in one of the fastest times in the NCAA this season to highlight the action at Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday.

Britton won in 8.22 seconds, the fourth-best time in the NCAA.

Tori Gerlach (4:47.03) edged teammate Leigha Anderson (4:47:60) to win the mile. Pole vaulter Lexi Masterson remained unbeaten by clearing 11-113/4. Dynasty McGee (54.07) was second in the 400 with the third-best time in the NCAA.

In men’s action, Robby Creese won the 1,000 in 2:20.65. Weight thrower Will Barr (67-11/4) remained unbeaten, winning by more than six feet. High-jumper Jon Hendershot set a personal best by clearing 7-1 1/2. Bernard Bennett-Green, Brandon Bennett-Green, Byron Robinson and Aaron Nadolsky teamed to win the 400 relay (3:07.83).
