From CDT staff reportsJanuary 19, 2014

— Penns Valley rallied from an early deficit to earn a 45-39 road victory over Juniata Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Down by six points after the opening eight minutes, the Lady Rams held the Lady Hornets to 10 points over the middle two quarters, then controlled the final quarter with a 7 for 8 showing from the foul line. Karli Ripka was 5 of 6 from the line to help seal the win.

“We played solid defense,” Penns Valley coach Andrea Borland said. “We were slow out of the gate, and in the final frame we did nice job of getting the lead and contolling the ball at the end.”

Maci Ilgen’s 12 points, Kourtney Beamesderfer’s 11 and Ripka’s nine paced the Lady Rams (8-4).
