Clearfield man leads state police on car, foot chase

From CDT staff reportsJanuary 23, 2014

A Clearfield man led state police on a car chase before being apprehended on foot late Wednesday night in Clearfield County.

Police said that Kevin Joseph Beish Jr., 29, was stopped for several traffic violations at 11:05 p.m. near the Sanborn intersection of state Route 153.

Rather than cooperating with police, however, Beish took off and sped down the road. A mile down Route 153, Beish crashed his vehicle into a guardrail and trees.

He left the vehicle and ran toward a wooded swamp. Several troopers were able to catch him, police said.

Beish was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer as well as for several traffic violations. He was arraigned in district court.
