Letter to the editor | A word about the bottom line

January 24, 2014

My contribution to the State Theatre this past year, through monetary donations and a number of ticket sales for children’s productions, musicals and contemporary play readings, was in large part due to the creative process and direction that Richard Biever has brought to our community.

I was saddened to hear of his departure and hope the arts in State College will thrive without his talent and artistic vision.

If the board doesn’t “foresee drastic changes to the theater’s programming mix” and is “still going to continue theater, music, movies … so it fulfills the mission of the theater” (“Struggling State Theatre names new executive director,” CDT, Jan. 15), how does it really plan to improve “the bottom line”?
