Penn State women’s hockey: Nittany Lions fall to Princeton

— The Penn State women’s ice hockey team left Hobey Baker Rink on Tuesday night with a 6-1 loss to Princeton.

Amy Petersen scored the lone goal for the Nittany Lions (4-20-2), who have lost eight of their last nine games, with assists from Taylor Gross and goalie Nicole Paniccia.

Sally Butler and Brianna Leahy netted two goals each for the Tigers (10-8-3), who outshot the Nittany Lions 50-16. Ali Pankowski and Denna Laing added one score each.

Paniccia started the first period in goal to take the loss, allowing four goals while making 15 saves. Celine Whitlinger played the final two periods, stopping 29 shots.

Kimerly Newell made 15 saves for the Tigers.

Penn State hosts RIT on Friday at Pegula Ice Arena.
