Letter to the editor | Autoport owner remembered

January 30, 2014

I agree with Cindy Hahn about the Autoport (“Owner’s legacy overlooked,” CDT Tuesday).

I remember Don Meyer. My family and I loved eating at the Autoport Coffee Shop. We liked to call him Mr. Meyer.

I am a Penns Valley historian, local historian and a Civil War re-enactor, so we often would talk about history with Meyer.

One day in 2003, he told me some history on the Autoport.

Meyer is a great person. He was always friendly and polite to his guests at the restaurant.

I also remember some of the waiters and waitresses who worked at the Autoport Coffee Shop.

They were also friendly and polite.

Meyer really enjoyed that the community would go into the Autoport.

We must always remember our past.
