Boys’ basketball: Penns Valley falls to Central

From CDT staff reportsJanuary 30, 2014

— Penns Valley suffered just its second loss of the season as Central pulled away in the second half for a 62-36 romp on Wednesday.

The Dragons outscored the Rams 39-20 in the second half to break open the contest.

“Midway through the third period, the tire sprung a leak,” Penns Valley coach Terry Glunt said. “Once it got away from us, it kept going.”

Zach Slagenweit led the Dragons with 21 points, including three 3-pointers. Lucas Patterson added 14.

Will Jackson had 14 points and Luke Weaver added nine for the Rams (13-2).

“It was bound to happen,” Glunt said. “We had a letdown and they just took it to us. You have to give them credit.”
