UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State’s 2014 recruiting class is nearly complete.
Florida cornerback Amani Oruwariye became the 24th prospect to verbally commit to Penn State on Thursday. A three-star player from Gaither High School in Tampa, Oruwariye is the third cornerback in the class. His commitment — which is non-binding until he signs a National Letter of Intent — followed follow cornerbacks Daquan Worley and Grant Haley.
At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Oruwariye had offers from many schools including the Big Ten’s Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Rutgers.
Penn State can have 75 scholarship players on its roster when training camp begins in August. Assuming Oruwariye does not change his commitment before National Letter of Intent Day next Wednesday, the Nittany Lions can bring in one more player with a scholarship in that time.
