High school girls’ basketball: Bellefonte turns up offense against Philipsburg-Osceola

— Bellefonte had four girls score in double figures in a game for the first time this season, and also hit a season high for points, in rolling past Philipsburg-Osceola 77-56 Thursday night.

Jess Book’s 19 points paced the Lady Red Raiders (9-7), while Mara Tamminga netted 17 points, Cassandra Book added 15 points and Alexis Franks scored 10.

Bellefonte had not seen more than two girls hit double figures in a game all season until Thursday.

The Lady Mounties also got some solid production, with Katie Meersand’s 17 points leading the way, followed by 13 points apiece for Abby Showers and Alyssa Myers.
