Alleged heroin dealer arrested in State College motel

From CDT staff reportsJanuary 31, 2014

A drug bust at the Imperial Motor Inn on South Atherton Street in State College netted what police think was a “midlevel” heroin distributor Thursday, according to the state Bureau of Narcotics Investigation.

Samuel Darius Woodlyn, 25, of Philadelphia, was arrested at the motel during a controlled purchase by Centre County Drug Task Force officers, according to the bureau.

After the buy, task force officers said they executed a search warrant of Woodlyn’s room and suspected him of flushing the controlled substances down the toilet.

Additional charges are pending, the bureau said, and the investigation into the distribution of heroin continues, they said.

Woodlyn was charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver heroin, one count of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of criminal use of a communications facility. All are felonies, the bureau said.

District Judge Allen Sinclair arraigned Woodlyn, and bail was set at $50,000 cash. He was taken to the Centre County Correctional Facility, where he awaits prosecution.

The Centre County Drug Task Force includes agents from the state Attorney General’s Office, the BNI, the county District Attorney’s Office, and police from Ferguson Township, Patton Township and State College.
