Girls basketball: Philipsburg-Osceola edges Bald Eagle Area

— Philipsburg-Osceola erased an eight-point deficit with less than four minutes to play en route to a 58-50 victory over Bald Eagle Area in girls basketball on Friday night.

Abby Showers and Haylee Hayward each scored 16 points to lead the Lady Mounties (4-13). Alyssa Myers chipped in with 13 points for Philipsburg-Osceola, which jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the first quarter.

Bald Eagle Area closed the gap to 27-20 at halftime and used a 23-12 run in the third quarter to take the lead. Logan Fisher finished with 17 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Eagles, and teammate Hayley Giedroc scored 13 points and had seven assists.
