State police at Philipsburg said two Morrisdale women were involved in a physical altercation Sunday afternoon that sent one of them to the hospital.

Police say Kelly E. Wright, 44, drove to a house at 202 Warwick St., Philipsburg, where she encountered Michelle D. Sanchez, 47, and struck Sanchez several times on the head and left arm.

According to police, Sanchez pushed Wright away from her, and Wright fell to the ground, hitting her head on a sidewalk and causing a minor laceration.

Police said alcohol was contributing factor.

Wright was treated at Mount Nittany Medical Center. State police said their investigation is continuing.
