Two legally blind women were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center on Friday afternoon after a delivery truck reportedly hit them.

State College police Lt. Mark Argiro said that a report of a vehicle-pedestrian accident came in at 12:49 p.m. Friday after the delivery truck attempted to make a left turn onto Hiester Street from East College Avenue, and struck the women.

Argiro said the two women were walking east across Hiester Street and were not crossing in the crosswalk.

A middle-aged woman was reportedly struck in the temple by the vehicle’s mirror and landed on the other woman.

The accident report will not be available until Monday. Police had no other information.
