Man charged with assaulting State College parking garage attendant

A Ferguson Township man was arrested early Friday morning on numerous charges after he allegedly assaulted a parking garage attendant on East Beaver Avenue.

State College police said Corey Simmons, 25, of 1400 Martin St., was charged with simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Lt. Mark Argiro said Simmons asked the parking garage attendant to either give him a ride home or to lend him his vehicle. When the attendant refused, Simmons allegedly punched him in the face multiple times.

The incident happened at 3:34 a.m. Friday.

Argiro said the attendant suffered a laceration to his left eye.

Simmons was found in possession of the attendant’s cellphone and driver’s license.
