Penn State softball: Nittany Lions off to best start since 2010

— Penn State is off to its best softball start since 2010.

The Nittany Lions (3-2) beat the Seattle Redhawks 6-1 to close out the Kajikawa Classic at the Tempe Sports Complex on Sunday.

Freshman pitcher Marlaina Laubach got her second win with a complete game in which she gave up just four hits and registered four strikeouts.

Sophomore Macy Jones notched three htis, scored two runs and knocked in two runs. Freshman Kristina Brackpool went 2-for-3 and added three RBIs with a home run. Penn State started the scoring in the second and added three runs in the fourth and two more in the sixth to pull away.

Alyssa Sovereign picked up an RBI in the win.
