Philipsburg man charged with assault in Rush Township

From CDT staff reportsFebruary 11, 2014

A 61-year-old Philipsburg man is in Centre County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person after an altercation at a Pike Lane residence at 5:20 p.m. Sunday.

State police at Philipsburg say the man threw a bucket at a 49-year-old woman, striking her in the legs. He then stood over her and threatened to hit her with a block of wood. She ran to the bedroom and locked the door, but the man got into the room and held a knife to her neck before throwing her onto the bed and striking her in the head with a closed fist. The woman then fled the residence and called police.
