Cross-country ski event to be held Sunday in Circleville Park

From CDT staff reportsFebruary 12, 2014

Nittany Nordic is hosting a cross-country ski event from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Circleville Park.

More than 3 miles of trails will be the venue for skiing in the park and Haugh Family Preserve. There is also a hill for sledding. Hot cocoa will be available in the pavilion, and participants can warm up by the fireplace. Scotia gamelands are across the street for more exploring.

Dave Gantz and Jason Erdman, of Allegheny Outdoor Institute, will be on hand to assist with ski instruction, and Appalachian Outdoors will have a presence.

The event is open to anyone. Bring extra firewood, a mug for cocoa, food and your winter sports equipment.

Parking is in the parking lot, and it will be plowed. Rental equipment is available at Appalachian Outdoors in State College.
