Opening of Benner Pike Perkins delayed until March

February 13, 2014

Perkins on Benner Pike has delayed its opening date to March 3 after originally coming out with a statement that said it would open 8 a.m. Feb. 24.

Restaurant spokeswoman Vivian H. Brooks said the delay is “nothing unusual.”

Brooks said the delay was caused by the building inspection and some last-minute code requirements. “It’s all fairly normal in the process,” Brooks said.

College Township engineer Kent Baker said that Perkins submitted a plan to the township March 18 to build a 4,360-square-foot, 132-seat restaurant next to the front parking lot of Eastview Plaza.

Construction on the facility began in September by Cam General Contracting, of Clearfield.
