High school boys’ indoor track and field: State College’s 4x800 relay team excels at Millrose Games

— State College’s 4x800 relay team competed in the New Balance Eastern High School Boys’ relay in the Millrose Game on Saturday and had an impressive showing.

The Little Lions finished second in their heat with a time of 7:47.75, which was .73 seconds behind winning team Osbourn Park, Va.

Chris Golembeski led the team off with 1:59 and passed it off to Mason Post, who posted a 1:56 time. Kyle Adams followed Post with a 1:57 and Will Cather anchored the squad with a 1:53.

State College’s time is to be the third fastest in the nation according to coach Rusty McCrae. Also, it is the fastest time for a Pennsylvania school beating out Cardinal O’Hara’s 7:50.00.

The fastest time in the country is by Blacksburg High School, Va., at 7:44.52.
