STATE COLLEGE — Dakota Parson led four Centre County Christian Academy players in double figures with 23 points as the Bulldogs avenged a blowout loss earlier in the season by knocking off DuBois Christian 66-63 in boys’ basketball action on Saturday.
Behind Parson, the Bulldogs (3-14) raced to a 38-24 halftime lead. DuBois rallied to within two entering the final quarter, but CCCA remained in front thanks to Kevin Zuercher’s play. Zuercher scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth-quarter. His 3-point play late pushed the Bulldogs’ lead to five.
CCCA had lost 60-34 to DuBois Christian a little more than a month ago “Obviously, we’ve improved,” Bulldogs coach Sean Kader said. “All season we’ve had one of two players score 15 or 20 points and tonight we had four of five starters in double figures. The kids hustled more than they had all season.”
Tyler Parson added 11 points and 17 rebounds, while Patrick Cooper notched 10 points. Zuercher added seven assists and Dakota Parson had four steals.
Christian Riss led DuBois Christian with 26 points.
