High school hockey: State College falls to Pine-Richland

— Pine-Richland’s Nate Carnovale found the back of the net with just 31 seconds remaining in regulation on Thursday night to lift the Rams to a 1-0 win over State College WPIHL boys’ hockey action at Pegula Ice Arena.

Chris Rosselot stopped 24 of 25 shots in goal for the Little Lions (8-9-1), currently a 10th seed in the 12-team WPIHL tournament who is seeking to win their final two games of the regular season to earn a postseason home game. State College is on the road on Friday night at North Allegheny in Warrendale.

The Little Lions will face Norwin next week, before the WPIHL tournament begins on March 3. The tournament’s top four seeds will receive a bye, while seeds 5-8 will host home first-round games.
