A Step Beyond Massage Therapy opened Jan. 30 but is holding a grand opening celebration from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Moriah Gause said she has been doing massage for 14 years with the goal of helping people.
“I had always wanted to help people in many ways, and finally figured out that by helping people be more comfortable when they do what they do best, I could be of help to the larger population in general,” Gause said. “It’s all about finding your place in the world, and I love to take on challenges of figuring out the cause of people’s chronic pain and muscle tension, helping them relieve it, and then helping people adjust their lifestyles to resolve the cause of the problem.”
Gause started by traveling to people’s homes, then moved into a small office in downtown State College three years ago. Another therapist, Amber Titus, joined Gause about year ago and has a similar vision for helping people.
“Clients can expect a professional massage that focuses on meeting their particular needs,” Gause said. “Deep tissue massage is not needed for everyone, so we offer many styles of therapy that can ultimately help them reach the same goals of overall wellness.”
In the new location, 431 E. Beaver Ave., the therapists have created an ambiance of relaxation that Gause said is “an oasis away from the everyday world.”
