Penn State women’s hockey: Nittany Lions fall to RIT in overtime

— Shannon Yoxheimer recorded her first two-goal game of the season, but Penn State fell to RIT in overtime 3-2 in the first game of their best-of-three CHA first-round series at Ritter Arena on Friday night.

Nicole Paniccia made 44 saves in the Nittany Lions’ longest game in program history, with the Tigers’ Celeste Brown netting the winner 10:15 into extra time.

Jess Paton and Caitlin Wallace also scored for RIT, which outshot Penn State 47-36.

The teams meet again at 2 p.m. Saturday for Game 2.
