Police: I-80 car search nets 116 fake credit cards hidden in cereal box

A New Jersey woman is behind bars after a traffic stop netted more than 100 counterfeit credit cards, state police at Rockview said.

Evelyn Perez, 19, of Perth Amboy, N.J., consented to a vehicle search after police stopped her at 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 80 in Marion Township, police said. “Criminal indicators” were observed, according to a police report.

Police said during a search of Perez’s car, they found a resealed box of Cheerios cereal, and inside were 116 counterfeit Visa credit cards.

Perez was charged with possessing instruments of crime and is awaiting arraignment. She was being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility.
