As I drove down College Avenue on Saturday morning, I was dismayed to see so many storefronts displaying State Patty’s Day products.
More so, I was upset to see Sunday’s CDT yet again promoting with its front-page article a business that bills itself as “the official home of State Patty’s Day merchandise.”
Much time, money and resources have been put into quelling the negative effects of this unofficial holiday, and those efforts seem to be working.
Instead of advertising for an enterprise that encourages participation in SPD, why not use this space to do a feature on those using the day as a day of service?
