The state-of-the-art video boards at Penn State’s Beaver Stadium should be in place by August, a university official said Friday.

The video boards, at the north and south end zones, will feature high-definition screens with advertising logos flanking the left and right sides of each board.

Renderings of the video boards were shown at the board of trustees meeting Friday on the campus of the Hershey Medical Center.

The new boards will replace the video screens that have been fixtures in the stadium since 2000. But, those are outdated and there are not replacement parts available, said physical plant vice president Ford Stryker said.

The project will cost $10 million.

Stryker previously said the project will be paid with two sources: a university loan to the athletic department and funds from the athletic department.
