Tree seedlings and fruit trees available from Centre County Conservation District

The Centre County Conservation District is accepting orders for its annual tree seedling sale. Proceeds from the sale go toward environmental education programs, including the annual Centre County Envirothon and the Conservation Poster Contest.

Seedling varieties include Colorado blue spruce, Scotch pine, Canadian hemlock, Norway spruce, red cedar, butternut (white walnut), American redbud, American elderberry and white flowering dogwood. Seedlings are sold bare-rooted in bundles of 10.

Fruit tree varieties include an apple tree package (one each for pollination), honeycrisp and Jonamac; a pear tree package (one each for pollination) Potomac and Blake’s Pride; Redhaven peach; bluebyrd plum; and black gold sweet cherry. These semi-dwarf fruit trees are 3 to 6 feet in height.
