Our View | Thumbs for Tuesday

March 18, 2014

Thumbs up: To the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District for starting a free breakfast program for all its students, from kindergarten to high school. The district thinks it can fuel children to learn more without taking a bite out of the food-service budget.

Thumbs down: To two local men, Cameron Woodring and Garrett Freeman, convicted of impersonating police officers to break in to a Bellefonte-area home, tie up its occupants and rob them at gunpoint. Real police caught up to them in North Carolina.

Thumbs up: To the proposed 1.2-mile bike path between Grays Woods and Circleville Park along Circleville Road in Patton Township. The project will make it safer and easier for neighborhood residents to bike to the park and reach other local paths.
