Centre County Commissioners OK deal to provide sex abuse hotline at jail

From CDT staff reportsMarch 18, 2014

The Centre County Board of Commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement Sunday that will allow people to report sexual abuse at Centre County Correctional Facility.

The agreement with the state Department of Corrections will establish a phone line at SCI-Camp Hill to receive calls from people who want to report the crime.

A third party reporting mechanism is required by the National Standard to Prevent, Detect and Respond to Prison Rape under the Prison Rape Elimination Act.
