Road signs cause damage in Worth Township hit and run

March 19, 2014

A chain-reaction crash happened Saturday in Worth Township when an unknown driver failed to negotiate a right-hand turn and traveled off the roadway.

State police at Philipsburg say his vehicle struck a large sign and went over the embankment. The metal posts that held the sign up “went flying through the air,” with two landing in the grass median, and a third metal post went across the median and struck the front of a 2006 Kia Sportage, driven by James Cackowski, of Emporium, disabling it.

The first driver fled the scene.
