Our View | Thumbs up, down

March 21, 2014

Thumbs down: To Penn State rugby players Christopher Petri and Sean Herbert, accused of burning down the team’s storage shed on campus. They face eight felony counts each, including arson, and could face university disciplinary action.

Thumbs up: To Jesse Arnelle, for a lifetime of service to Penn State as a student, basketball standout and trustee. Arnelle saw the writing on the wall and withdrew from the alumni board election. He has served for 47 years, two years as chairman.

Thumbs down: To Justin Blake, of Maryland, now charged with rape in connection with an incident on State Patty’s Day weekend. He had been accused of burglary, trespass and sexual assault. The rape charge was added Wednesday.
