Boys tennis: State College earns victory over Cedar Cliff

— The State College boys’ tennis team fought through a tough wind to earn five straight-sets wins and a 2-0 record on the season in its home opener Thursday, beating Cedar Cliff 5-0.

Scoring singles wins were Dan Schull, Matt Wherley and Sam Wherley. Doubles victories were posted by the teams of Luke Plowden and Enrique Del Castillo, along with Shreyas Radhakrishna and Lucas Forest.

“The guys started off quickly and stayed focused,” Little Lions coach Jane Borden said. “It was a tough day to play, but the guys embraced the challenge and took care of business.”
