Our View | Thumbs for Tuesday

March 24, 2014

Thumbs up: To the six local high school seniors who were honored Sunday by the Central Pennsylvania chapter of the National Football Foundation. They were among 45 students statewide who were honored for their achievements on the field and in the classroom.

Thumbs down: To a former school bus driver charged with corruption of and selling or furnishing liquor to minors. Police charged Daisey Joe Hartley, of Howard, in February. Hartley was employed by Long Motor Buses as a driver for State College Area School District.

Thumbs up: To the arrest of two suspects in a series of State Patty’s Day burglaries. According to State College police, surveillance video led to the identification of two suspects — a 22-year-old Geneva College student and a 23-year-old University of Pittsburgh student.
