Our View | Thumbs up, down

March 28, 2014

Thumbs up: To the Penn State Lady Lions — led by seniors Dara Taylor, Talia East, Ariel Edwards and Maggie Lucas — for advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. They play at Stanford on Sunday.

Thumbs down: To Philipsburg-area towing company owner John Lorraine Bowes, arrested Tuesday with an employee and charged with selling heroin from his business. The bust followed a three-month investigation, police said.

Thumbs down: To the Penn State Delta Upsilon fraternity, disciplined by the Interfraternity Council after police filed charges of furnishing alcohol to minors against the frat. Police said they also investigated an alleged sexual assault there.
