High school softball: State College shuts out Cedar Cliff

— State College exploded for six runs in the third inning and cruised to a 6-0 win over Cedar Cliff in softball on Thursday.

Jess Henderson threw a complete game for the Lady Little Lions (1-0), limiting Cedar Cliff (0-2) to two hits and striking out nine. Five different State College players drove in runs during the big third inning.

Megan Robert started the rally with a walk, and Michaela Rittenhouse reached on a single. They advanced to second and third on a passed ball before Laura Harris drove Robert home for the game’s first run. Andrea Myers scored a run and drove one in after getting hit by a pitch. Henderson came through with an RBI-single in the inning.
