High school softball: Bellefonte rolls past Tyrone

— Bellefonte broke out for 12 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to cruise past Tyrone 16-5.

The Lady Raiders finished with 12 hits in support of winning pitcher Stevi Confer. Confer allowed two runs and struck out seven in five innings.

Bellefonte (1-0) led 4-2 going into the top of the fifth inning. Vanessa Cooper, who went 2-for-2, drove in two runs on a double to cap a five-run inning in the top of the fifth. The Lady Raiders then pushed their lead to 16-2 with seven more runs in the sixth.

Confer went 3-for-5 with a triple, and Erin Pugh finished 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.
