Woman killed in Clinton County crash

From CDT staff reportsMarch 29, 2014

A 70-year-old woman was killed Saturday morning after the vehicle she was driving crashed on Interstate 80 in Porter Township, Clinton County.

State police at Lamar said the driver, who was not identified pending notification of next of kin, was heading west on I-80 at mile marker 174 when she traveled off the road at about 6:20 a.m. She was able to maneuver her Pontiac Grand Am back onto the highway, but lost control, police said. The car spun, left the road again and crashed into a tree on the front passenger side.

The woman was taken to Lock Haven Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Nittany Valley and Dunns-town volunteer fire departments and Goodwill Hose Company assisted at the scene, along with Tressler’s Garage.
