High school softball: Philipsburg-Osceola holds off Hollidaysburg

— Philipsburg-Osceola’s Megan Bainey hit a solo home run in the second inning, and the Lady Mounties held off Hollidaysburg for a 4-3 win Thursday.

Philipsburg-Osceola (3-0) went ahead 3-0 after two innings and led the rest of the way. Haylee Hayward went 3-for-4, and Abby Showers, Tiffani Wagner and Bainey finished 2-for-3. Chelsey Henry pitched a complete game, striking out eight and allowing one earned run for the win.

The Lady Mounties also beat Tyrone 10-0 on Friday. Maggie Peck went 2-for-3 with four RBIs to pace the Philipsburg-Osceola offense.
