Construction to end on Route 322 bridge near Boalsburg

From CDT staff reportsApril 4, 2014

A bridge-repair project on U.S. Route 322 near Boalsburg will wrap up Monday.

The bridge located on eastbound Route 322 and spans Route 45. State Department of Transportation officials said repairs were necessary due to damaged caused by an oversize load traveling on Route 45 in October.

The hauler is responsible for the cost of repairs, PennDOT said.

The bridge was built in 1971, is 212 feet long and carries an average of 8,227 vehicles per day, with truck traffic making up almost 28 percent of that total.
