High school baseball: Penns Valley, Clearfield play to tie

From CDT staff reportsApril 10, 2014

— Eleven innings weren’t enough to decide Wednesday’s clash between Penns Valley and Clearfield as the two baseball teams finished in a 3-3 tie.

The contest will be finished when the Rams and Bison meet later in the season.

The score was 1-1 through six innings before the Bison scored twice in the seventh to take the lead. Penns Valley (0-1) rallied in the bottom of the seventh, tying the game on Taylor Collison’s RBI grounder and Cameron Tobias’ sacrifice fly.

Adam DeGarmo pitched four scoreless innings for the Rams before the game was halted by darkness.

"It was good pitching," Penns Valley coach Chuck Romig said. "Neither team could come up with a big hit. It was a good ballgame, but it was frustrating, too."
