High school softball: State College rallies past Williamsport

— Laura Harris singled to drive in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting State College to a 7-6 win over Williamsport on Wednesday.

The Lady Little Lions (4-0) overcame an early four-run deficit to force extra innings before Harris’ game-winning hit. Jess Henderson pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, striking out four and limiting Williamsport to two hits to earn the win. Sharayah Simco went 2-for-4 to lead State College.

Simco led off with a double in the seventh inning and later scored on an error to tie the game 6-6. After a scoreless eighth inning, Simco led off the eighth inning with another double. Liz Drawl entered as a pinch runner and scored on Harris’ single to clinch the win.
