Penn State softball: Nittany Lions win sixth straight

— Penn State rallied for a pair of runs in the fifth inning that lifted the Nittany Lions over Indiana 2-1 on Saturday at Andy Mohr Field.

The win gives Penn State its sixth consecutive victory and fifth conference win of the year.

Kasie Hatfield and Lexi Knief paced the Nittany Lions’ offense tallying all four of their hits.

After an excellent outing on Friday, Hatfield returned to the field and posted went 2 for 4, including the game-winning two run single. Knief also went 2 for 4, extending her hitting streak to seven-straight games and scored one run.

Sophomore Christy Von Pusch picked up her second win of year for Penn State, while Marlaina Laubach notched her first save and Marissa Diescher also contributed in the circle.

The Nittany Lions and the Hoosiers return for the final game of the series on Sunday.
