High school boys’ volleyball: State College competes in Central York’s Koller Classic

— State College started the day of 0-2 in pool play but bounced back and picked up a bye in the playoffs of the Koller Classic on Saturday.

However, the Little Lions suffered a 25-18 loss to Parkland and was finished for the day.

State College suffered opening losses to Derry (25-20, 25-21) and Hempfield (25-15, 25-16) and came back to defeat Dallastown (25-16, 25-23) and Neshaminy (25-17, 25-21).

Andrew Groves led the Little Lions in kills (22) and assists (33). Parker Thompson led the team with 34 digs and Deniz Demirci had six aces on the day. Clark Handel turned in four blocks for State College.
