Community Good Friday service slated

Faith United Church of Christ, 300 E. College Ave., State College, will hold a community Good Friday service from noon to 3 p.m. at the church.

Parking is free in the Pugh Street garage and Grace Lutheran church. A free will offering will benefit Interfaith Human Services.

Eight ministers from various congregations will discuss several topics:

• • 12:05 p.m.: Pontius Pilate-Matt 27:11-24. Bonnie Kline Smeltzer, University Baptist & Brethren Church.

• • 12:25 p.m.: Simon of Cyrene-Luke 23:26-31. Monica Dawkins-Smith, Faith United Church of Christ.

• • 12:45 p.m.: The Thief on the Cross-Luke 23:39-43. Ed Zeiders, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

• • 1:05 p.m.: Mary, the Mother of Jesus-Matt 27:55-56, Joel Blunk, State College Presbyterian Church.

• • 1:25 p.m.: John, the Beloved Disciple-John 19:25b-27. Mary Friesen, University Mennonite Church.

• • 1:45 p.m.: Nicodemus-John 19: 38-42. Susan Williamson, Pine Hall Lutheran.

• • 2:10 p.m.: Mary Magdalene-Mark 15: 33-41. P. Stevens Lynn, Grace Lutheran Church.

• • 2:35 p.m.: The Roman Soldier, Matthew 27:51-54. Monica Ouellette, St. John’s United Church of Christ.
