Facebook postings, police note suspicious activity

From CDT staff reportsApril 14, 2014

A report of suspicious activity over the weekend stirred attention on Facebook.

An incident occurred at 424 Westerly Parkway on Sunday, when a woman dropped off items at Goodwill Industries. When she was driving away, State College police said she reported being followed by a newer charcoal gray Ford Explorer.

The driver was reportedly a white male about 50 years old with dark curly hair. He was wearing a black Pittsburgh Pirates shirt and a black ball cap.

Police said that one aspect of the Facebook version of the account could not be confirmed. The social media posting said the woman’s telephone was disabled while the Explorer was close behind her.

Lt. Keith Robb said Monday he had no information about the cellphone of the victim being disabled. He also could not confirm any information about a device that could potentially disable cellphones in that manner.
